The Window Guy started with a Dallas kid who believed he could outwork any obstacle placed in front of him.
My name is Marquez Johnson, and I was born and raised in West Dallas — a community that taught me grit, humility, and the value of supporting one another. I graduated #3 in my class from DISD,
earned my way into Texas A&M; University to study Psychology, and even walked on to the football team. When I wasn’t hitting the books or the field, I was in the ring — becoming a national champion
boxer.
Every part of my journey taught me discipline, resilience, and that nothing worthwhile comes without heart.
Growing up, I saw firsthand how much a safe, comfortable, upgraded home could mean to a family. Programs like 2nd Saturday and Habitat for Humanity helped shape my childhood, and I’ve never forgotten what that support meant. Starting The Window Guy was my chance to give that same feeling back — to pour into the very communities that poured into me. So yes — this business is personal.
